OLBL GEARS UP FOR PARISH GENERAL ASSEMBLY THIS SATURDAY
Pope Francis: It is everyone’s Church
At the heart of Christianity is an invitation to the Lord’s feast. This was Pope Francis’ message in a morning Mass at the Casa Santa Marta during the first year of his papacy. The Pope said that the Church is “not only for good people;” the invitation to be part of it concerns everyone. And he added that, at the Lord’s feast we must “participate fully” and with everyone (Vatican Radio)
To help us respond to the Pope’s call for a renewed, more participative church, our parish will be holding the Parish General Assembly this Saturday at the OLBL Church from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon. The objectives of the assembly are to orient the parishoners about the focus of the church for the year of 2014; to present the programs and activities lined up for the rest of the year in support of this direction; and to exhort the faithful to be involved in the church BEC activities either in worship, formation, human promotion, or family and youth programs. Small groupings will provide a medium for all to express their ideas on how the church can better motivate him/her to be proactive in the parish.
In the same message, Pope Francis continued, “to enter into the Church is to become part of a community, the community of the church.
Rev. Fr. John Vianney Acosta, OFMConv will be the guest speaker. Everyone is invited.
